Review integrity policy

We never sell reviews. Here is exactly how we work.

Fake and paid reviews can get a book removed from Amazon and break US federal law. This page explains the rules we follow, in plain words, so you can check us before you work with us.

Last updated October 2026

What we do

  • Charge authors for marketing work and for finding readers who fit their book
  • Give readers a free copy, with no review required
  • Ask readers who post a review to say they got a free copy
  • Pass on feedback privately, good and bad
  • Use reader quotes only with the reader's permission
  • Show only real client feedback on this website

What we never do

  • Pay readers, or give them gifts, for reviews
  • Ask for positive reviews or a star rating
  • Promise a number of reviews or a rating
  • Write, buy or use AI to create reviews
  • Run review swaps between authors
  • Buy followers, likes or views
  • Ask for your KDP login or password

Amazon's rules, in plain words

Amazon lets authors give free or discounted copies to readers, as long as no review is required and nobody tries to influence what the reader says. Amazon does not allow reviews that are paid for, swapped, or written by the author's family or close friends. Reviews that break these rules can be removed, and accounts can be suspended.

Our reader circle is built around these rules. Readers get a free copy. Reviews are optional. Readers who know the author skip that book.

The FTC rule on fake reviews

In August 2024 the US Federal Trade Commission adopted a rule (16 CFR Part 465) that bans fake reviews, AI written reviews posing as real customers, rewards tied to a positive or negative review, undisclosed reviews from insiders, and fake followers or views. Businesses that break it can face fines.

That is why we never promise reviews or ratings, and why we never buy social media numbers. You can read the FTC announcement at ftc.gov.

How to spot a book marketing scam

  • They promise a set number of 5 star reviews
  • They guarantee bestseller status or a number of sales
  • They ask for your KDP login or password
  • They want payment by wire transfer, gift card or crypto
  • They have no business website, no prices and no written terms

We send invoices from our business email, publish our prices and put our terms in writing.
